ARMELLODAY IN AVALANCHE

Our Label Armellodie records have organised a super fun instore!

“On Saturday 18th June we're having an Armellodie coach-trip-jolly through to Scotland's capital, Edinburgh with the full intent of showing our soft east-side brothers and sisters how to have a proper good time!

Care to join us? It's free! (But you could buy a record or four if you please!)

Starting with a host of Armellodie's finest in Avalanche Records (5 Grassmarket), prepare for some stripped down dancing in plim-sole sets from The Scottish Enlightenment, Le Reno Amps, Something Beginning With L and Cuddly Shark.

Who they? What they? Why they? ...

THE SCOTTISH ENLIGHTENMENT

The Scottish Enlightenment are quiet, but like a falling bomb is quiet, like an embryo is quiet, like the sibilant steam drifting ominously above a silent culdera. They hummmmmm melodiously like a microwave, slowly incubating their songs with the full time dedication and care of a placenta.

LE RENO AMPS

Born of sorrow in the North East of Scotland, Le Reno Amps continue their quest to reconfigure their musical landscape with p.o.p vitamins, Scott Maple and Al Nero swap lead vocals and trade harmonies with a certain joie de vivre. .

SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH L

Juxtaposing scuzzy electric guitars and buzzing synthesizers with acoustic fragility and electro-beats, guided into the light by the salient crystalline vocals of Lucy Parnell and Jen Macro who offer bliss-out close harmonies, melancholy and absorbing into the band’s encapsulating dream-pop.

CUDDLY SHARK

The return of Callin’ Colin on guitar and vocals, Jables Sexual on drums and Hoofbert on bass guitar is getting the Armellodie crew wet, wet, wet! Having released the best rock record like eva in 2009, the band went to ground last year to write the follow up which they’ll be committing to tape this summer with their songs stemming from an anarchic and free spirited unique romanticism, they’re a huggable beast and sexxxy as fuck.

...then we can all get munch and head to the full-on rock-show at SNEAKY PETE'S with more Armellodie goodness from THE DOUGLAS FIRS and SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH L, plus special guests PLASTIC ANIMALS. Event page for that show is here -FACEBOOK FUN PAGE!

Oh what a day! Oh what a night!

We did Totnes

its true,
we painted and got high on paint fumes for hours followed by rehearsing with massive headaches.
beautifull.

In the morning i woke up and made cheese, pickle and tomato sarnies for the drive with skill and extreme fatigue.
follwed by jon on tea backed up by jen on sleep.

I went to brixton to get velcro for the pedals, jon to the studio jen in the bed.
pedals got stuck down, brains nearly exploded and jons patience tested, we then packed the car.

jammed the boot of the new car. Hit les road.

Tunes by Parnell, radio djing by Macro, pedals and stearing wheel clay-ton.
We stopped on the way and got a pod. woop.

We got to taunton. oh taunton.

If you have ever been then your lucky, its beautifull filled will rolling hills and frolicking bulls and lambs.
Drift HQ was sweeet mr and mrs morrison so hospitable.
The drift record shop was full of punters and it was all very exciting www.driftrecords.co.uk.

We got stuck in laoded in got nervous, caught up with rob of the ellis clan, ate meze (or not for some) played then got massively drunk and back to the Morrisons for music and wine.

D.R.U.N.K

next morning = pain with a little bit of sick.
